My mind is still reeling and recuperating from my red-eye flight, but it was all worth it. I met some amazing people and feel inspired, confident, and ready to tackle anything the publishing world dishes out. It was nice to get away for once, and hang out with other writing moms (and dads).
Ok, so I meant to write more and create an exciting post, but I'm thinking longingly of my bed--and I can't go to it because I've got a house to clean, queries to dust off, and a non-napping kiddo.
Next time--photos and a "deeper" post.

I am so sorry for your house woes. If only the floor-cleaning, dish-doing, laundry-gremlins would come.
Oh, or a whole staff.
Sigh.
Do the queries instead and when you sell the book you can hire all the man servants you need.
I'm so glad you had a nice time at SCBWI! MAN I wish we could have been there too! Next year FOR SURE though, as it's such an inspiring and fun conference!
And thank you for your VERY generous comments about the Magpie piece I did over at Laini's blog. SO sweet :)
Warm regards,
Jim
yay for being home! It was great meeting you!
Hey Amber. So fun hanging with you at the conference. Please email me the Rock Sugar Beets contact list when you come up for air.

oh yeah we have a roster...created on the back of a mini-piece of paper at the Rock Sugar Pan-American yadayadayada restaurant. You put your info down so now you are officially in, our fair historian. Now, what would i be...oh, i'll be the googlegroups firestarter.
