M.T. Anderson

I am going to write my darndest to catch up to him. He is the writer I most want to emulate.

(Reading The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing: Traiter to the Nation, Vol 2., Kingdom on the Waves and LOVING it. Mr. Anderson is a verifiable genius.)

The only downside to reading his books is that they tend to run long, run deep, and keep me from writing whilst I'm reading them.

He really is such an amazing writer. What I think impresses me the most is how smart, but also how funny he is. Not only can he write stunning books like Octavian Nothing, but he can also write laugh-out-loud funny ones like Whales on Stilts. I think that just shows what a talented writer he really is.

I need to read his other books.

For now, I will soak myself in Octavian Nothing. I think I'm in love...

I've not read this yet, but I'd like to write like Markus Zusak.....but that is too far a reach for little old me.

You can do it, Shelley!

Oh, and Markus Zusak is my OTHER inspiration.
